Commercial Pilot License

A Commercial Pilot License is required before you can work for hire. It is a necessary license for any professional pilot and the basis for most other advanced training.

Vocational Programs

The Ottawa Flight College offers four vocational programs aimed at preparing students for a professional career in aviation:

Flight Training Diploma Program

The Algonquin College Aviation Management Program provides students with an Ontario College Diploma in General Arts and Sciences and the knowledge and skills to be a commercial pilot. In addition to the basic ground school and flight training, students will receive a wealth of aviation and business related knowledge and practical skills that will enhance their attractiveness to prospective employers.

Professional Pilot Program Fees

The Ottawa Flight College Professional Pilot Program has limited up-front tuition. Most of the fees are of a pay-as-you fly nature. The fees for individual pilots will vary from these guidelines based on their skill and ability. Essentially, the better prepared the pilot for each flight, the more frequently they fly, the harder they study, the lower the fees. In general, the breakdown of the fees are as shown below.

Professional Pilot Program

The Professional Pilot Program is designed to graduate highly skilled pilots who are ready for the real world of commercial flight operations. It provides the base for continued professional specialization towards sea-plane or multi-engine IFR ratings.

Our Programs

The Ottawa Flight College is pleased to offer a number of vocational training and professional-development programs as well as recurrency and type checkouts. We also offer basic pilot training to amateur pilots.  Choose the program that most closely suits your needs.

Vocational Programs

After graduation from these programs, you will be able work for hire as a professional pilot.
