How to Enroll

Enrolling in the Ottawa Flight College is as simple as filling out a form.

Enrolling in the Ottawa Flight College programs is a simple procedure.  The process for vocational programs is more involved than for recreational or professional development.  Please select the process that most closely fits your situation:

  • Ottawa Flying Club Members
  • Canadian Students
  • International Students
  • Third-Party Funded Students

Ottawa Flying Club Members

If you are a member of the Ottawa Flying Club or are already registered in another program at the Ottawa Flight College, the registration process is simple - give us a call.  We will set you up in the program of your choice.  If you want to start a vocational program, we will require that you sign a Student Contract.  We may also need additional documentation such as verification of medical certificates.

Canadian Students

Canadian Students will need to fill out a student application form and apply to the Chief Flying Instructor.

International Students

International Students will need to fill out a student application form, and provide the following information:

  • verification of English language ability to the ICAO level-4 operational standard for aviation English
  • verification of medical fitness to the level required by the planned program
  • initial payment of the tuition and administration fees and
  • a photocopy of the identification page of their passport.

Once we have received all this information, we will issue a Letter of Acceptance to the student which will help justify a student visa for entry into Canada. For more information and other related tips and advice, please see our Foreign Students page

Third-Party Funded Students

For students whose flight training is sponsored by their employer or funded by some other third party, the Ottawa Flight College can support the funding application process.  In this case, students express an interest in a particular program and fill out a student application form.  The Ottawa Flight College will send a conditional letter of acceptance that can be used to secure the funding.  A simple services contract (a purchase order and pro-forma invoice) are established with the third party and the flight training can begin as soon as all the conditions in the Letter of Acceptance are met.
