Community

Students at the Ottawa Flight College become part of a large community of aviation enthusiasts and support organizations.

The Ottawa Flight College is surrounded by a community or people and organizations which have a rich heritage and love of aviation. The community brings a richness of information, history and enthusiasm to our endeavours.

The Ottawa Flight College
The Ottawa Flying Club is a vibrant group of aviation enthusiasts in the heart of the Nation's Capital. The club is active in the community and provides access to the Ottawa International Airport for it members.
Home of the Aviation Management Program
The Canadian Aviation and Space Museum houses a fabulous collection of Canadian aviation history. Students will have access to the museum and some of their program classes may be held there. The Redbird simulator is also located at the museum, overlooking aircraft from all periods of flight in Canada.
The Air Transport Association of Canada is an advocate for issues that affect the association members. The Ottawa Flight College is supported by ATAC in areas of business development and government relations.
The Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA) is a not-for-profit, national partnership organization that brings together business, labour, educators, industry associations and government in a strategic alliance that is focused on implementing solutions to the specific skills and demographic needs of the industry. Aspects of their work that are important to OFC students include HR studies on pilot occupations and pilot occupational standards.
Fly Day is an annual joint-effort charity event organized by the Ottawa Flying Club and the Ottawa Rotary Home; an excellent organization which provides support and respite for children with severe physical disabilities. FlyDay the public gets an opportunity to take a 20-minute tour of the city in a small airplane. The timing is just right, as FlyDay normally takes place in the Fall allowing the public to enjoy the beautiful autumn colours from above.
